Transport Scotland has tendered a £1.94bn framework for the design and delivery of five sections of the A9 dualling scheme.

Running for two years, the framework has been divided into two lots: Lot 1for works less than £400m and Lot 2 for works greater than £400m

The sections will be divided between the lots as follows:

  • Pass of Birnam to Tay Crossing (8.4km) - Lot 1
  • Glen Garry to Crubenmore (20.5km) - Lot 1
  • Crubenmore to Kincraig (16.5km) - Lot 1, and
  • Killiecrankie to Glen Garry (22km) - Lot 2
  • Dalraddy to Slochd (25km) - Lot 2

Transport Scotland plans to use a restricted procedure to procure the suppliers for this framework, with procurement split into a prequalification stage and a tender stage.

Those interested in participating in the framework are required to submit a single procurement document by 6 July.

It stated in the contract notice that, following the prequalification stage, ‘detailed information regarding the award process and award criteria for the tender phase will be supplied to Economic Operators who are invited to tender.'

The Scottish road authority added that those suppliers progressing to the next stage are expected to be notified by 10 August.
