Leeds City Council has appointed 11 suppliers to a near-£2bn major works framework.
The YORbuild Major Works 2 contract is split into two lots:
- Lot 1: Over £10m to £30m
- Lot 2: Over £30m
Each lot had eight suppliers appointed. On Lot 1, which has a contract value of £720m, there are:
- Caddick Construction,
- Galliford Try Construction,
- Kier Construction,
- Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure,
- Robertson Construction Group,
- Tilbury Douglas Construction,
- Vinci Building
- Wates Construction
There was some overlap with those appointed to Lot 2, which is valued at £1.08bn. Galliford Try scored a spot on both lots, along with Kier, Morgan Sindall, Vinci and Wates. The remaining spots on Lot 2 were taken by John Graham Construction, McLaren Construction and Willmott Dixon Construction.
The framework came into effect on 6 July and is expected to have an initial run of four years until 5 July 2030. A possible extension until 5 July 2032 would bring the total runtime to six years.
It is open to a range of local authorities and organisations, although use is restricted to regions including Yorkshire and the Humber; Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire; Leicester; Leicestershire CC and Rutland and Lincolnshire.
