Six firms including five SMEs have won places on a highways minor works framework agreement with Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council worth a total of £14m.
The work is divided into four lots and is described as being of a jobbing/patching/minor works nature associated with the maintenance and improvement of the highway network.
All four lots will operate for an initial two-year duration, commencing in October 2019; and the councils will have the option to extend any of them by a further two years, depending on performance.
DJT Surfacing secured positions on all four lots, which will see it deliver task orders issued by both councils on both a day-work basis and as a planned programme of works.
‘This contract award builds on DJT Surfacing's experience of delivering similar services to both Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council.'
