The South Wales Trunk Road Authority (SWTRA) has announced plans to tender a highways and structures framework worth an estimated £384m.

The framework would cover four years from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030, along with a possible extension to 31 March 2031 and would see civil engineering contractors carry out ‘a range of highway-related construction and surfacing services'.

The NEC4 framework is divided into tow lots: lot 1 covers civils and ancillary works and lot 2 covers surfacing and ancillary works.

The tender notice is currently expected to be published on 30 June 2026, with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, Carmarthenshire County Council and Monmouthshire County Council as contracting authorities alongside SWTRA.
