Breedon Group has named former Amey director Joe Docherty as its new group head of health and safety.
Mr Docherty has been tasked with leading the strategic development of health and safety for the Breedon Group businesses operating across the United Kingdom, Ireland and the USA.
He has joined the construction materials giant from Amey, where he was HSEQ director for highways for almost four years, then HSEQ director for transport infrastructure for six.
In a statement, Breedon Group said Mr Doherty 'brings a wealth of experience across health, safety, wellbeing, environmental and quality disciplines, gained across a broad range of sectors and operational environments'.
'He will support the delivery of our Group-wide five-year health and safety strategy and continue to strengthen how we embed health and safety in the way we lead, plan and operate - reinforcing our commitment to ensuring everyone goes home safe and well, every day.'
