Darren Gotch has been appointed acting head of highways and strategic transport for the London Borough of Lewisham.
Prior to his new role, Mr Gotch spent three and a half years at Waterman Aspen as principal consultant and then design manager.
He has 18 years of experience in the highways sector, which includes stints as a traffic assistant for Slough Borough Council and an engineer for Project Centre.
He is also a company director at DSG Road Safety and Traffic Management and worked as senior principal engineer for Mott MacDonald.
During the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar he worked as the tournament bus service manager.
Mr Gotch has been approached for comment.
