Infrastructure contractor Colas has appointed Emma Murray as head of environment, quality and social value.

In this role, Ms Murray will oversee Colas' approach to environment, quality, sustainability and social value, working across the business to ‘support continuous improvement and deliver value' for its clients, communities and stakeholders.

The company stated that, since joining the business in 2018, Ms Murray ‘has played a key role in shaping our environmental management and carbon reduction strategy, helping to drive key initiatives and support our commitment to responsible business practices'.

Prior to her current appointment, Ms Murray served as the company's environmental manager, having previously also served as the SHEQ systems and compliance officer and an environmental advisor.

She also held the role of environmental advisor at JSM Group, Services & Trade, The Rydon Group and Ringway Jacobs.
