GRAHAM Group has announced that its finance chief, Courtney McCormick (pictured above), will take the reins as the chief executive in September, following the retirement of Andrew Bill after 40 years with the company.

Mr McCormick has spent the past 12 years as CFO of the group. He joined the group in 2008 as finance director of the investments division, having previously worked in corporate finance at Deloitte.

He was appointed to the Group board in 2014 and currently serves on the divisional boards of construction, facilities, management and investments.

GRAHAM stated that Mr McCormick has played a ‘pivotal role' in the strategic planning and development of the business as CFO of the group.

This leadership handover comes as the contractor reported revenue up 16% to £1.23bn for the year to 31 March 2026, while pre-tax profit surged 42% to £36m.

Among the company's successes were its appointment to National Highways' £968m Legacy Concrete Roads Reconstruction Framework.

Chairman Michael Graham said: ‘Andrew has made an exceptional contribution to GRAHAM and leaves the business in a position of considerable strength. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank him for his dedication, leadership and commitment over many years.

‘We are delighted to appoint Courtney as chief executive officer. He has been instrumental in shaping the business we are today and brings extensive leadership, commercial and strategic experience to the role.'

Mr McCormick added: ‘We have built strong momentum across all our business units, secured an excellent portfolio of future opportunities and maintained the financial strength needed to support sustainable growth.

‘GRAHAM enters the next chapter of its journey from a position of real strength and I look forward to working with colleagues across the Group to build on this success for our clients, people and communities.'
