Neil Sampson has been announced as the new CEO of Torquay Group, taking over the role from Scott Paton, who has decided to step down after two years in the role as the group ‘moves into its next phase of development'.

Among other businesses, the Torquay Group owns Solar Gates, the company that provides the INSTABOOM range of barriers, and Mobile Visual Information Systems (MVIS), a leading business in the delivery of temporary Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) products, integrated solutions and variable message signs.

Mr Sampson said: ‘Scott has played an important role over the past two years in bringing the businesses within the group together and helping create the foundations for what comes next. On behalf of everyone across Torquay Group, I'd like to thank Scott for the contributions he has made.

‘As we move forward, our focus is building on those foundations and continuing to bring together the strengths of the businesses across the group. There is a huge amount of capability within our teams, and I'm excited about what we can achieve together in the years ahead.'

Having started and led Solar Gates as its managing director (MD), a company recently acquired by Torquay Group, for the past two decades, Mr Sampson has been ‘closely involved in the innovation, creativity and adaptability that takes place at the company.

He also recently took on the role of MD of P&D Specialist Services alongside his position at Solar Gates.
