The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has appointed Aaron Hill as its new director of partnerships, while he also continues as director of CPT Cymru at an executive level.

In his new role, Mr Hill will be responsible for overseeing CPT's partnerships and regional engagement across England. As part of this, he is expected to work closely with both members and strategic partners to ‘build relationships with local transport authorities and mayors' to help embed CPT's priorities in local delivery.

In addition, Aaron will retain oversight of CPT Cymru at the executive level, supported by a new head of CPT Cymru, a role which is due to be filled later this year.

Having served as director of CPT Cymru for the past three years, Mr Hill oversaw strategic engagement with the Welsh Government and the Senedd and also championed the role of bus and coach operators in delivering ‘reliable, sustainable transport for communities across Wales'.

Mr Hill said: ‘I am delighted to be taking on this role at a time when effective partnership working is more important than ever. Buses and coaches play a vital role in supporting economic growth, improving connectivity and driving decarbonisation across every part of the UK. I look forward to working with our members and partners across the regions to strengthen CPT's collective voice.'

Graham Vidler, chief executive of CPT, added: ‘Aaron has made a significant contribution during his time leading CPT Cymru and brings strong policy insight and trusted relationships to this new role. His appointment underlines CPT's commitment to deepening engagement across the UK and ensuring regional perspectives shape our work.'
