Iain McDonald has been appointed by WSP as director of Scotland and North England, after spending ‘six rewarding years' working with Clackmannanshire Council.
Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Mr McDonald said that he is excited ‘to begin this next chapter supporting clients across Scotland and the North of England'.
His new role will see him working closely with local authorities, regional partners, and national agencies to ‘help shape and deliver sustainable infrastructure, transport, and place programmes' that create long-term value for communities.
Prior to his role as a senior manager for environment services at Clackmannanshire Council, Mr McDonald held a number of roles in both the private and public sectors, including senior project manager at Atkins, roads manager for Stirling Council and quality system manager for South Lanarkshire Council.
Reflecting on his time working with Clackmannanshire, he said that he ‘had the privilege of working with and leading dedicated colleagues delivering key infrastructure, environmental, and place-based services' and gave his thanks to everyone who supported him on his ‘local government journey'.
