Skanska has poached one of National Highways' directors, Dean Sporn, giving him the role of divisional director for highways and aviation.

Having served as National Highways' director of the regional investment programme for the south, Mr Sporn brings over two decades of prior experience in the private sector.

He first started his career as an engineer for Kier and has since held a wide range of positions, including general manager for New South Wales and New Zealand for CPB Contractors.

He was also a regional director at Balfour Beatty and operations manager for Dean & Dyball Construction.

Skanska has been approached for comment.
