TRL has announced its new leadership team, including a new CEO, CRO, and CFO, as the company brings its software, data, and expertise under a single banner.

Taking on the top job of chief executive is Dave Sharratt, whose previous roles include CEO of Landis+Gyr, vice president (VP) of global sales for productivity products at Honeywell Safety & Productivity Solutions, VP of international business at Array Technologies, managing director of authentication at De La Rue and the owner of DMS Resolutions.

Mr Sharratt will be joined by fellow De La Rue alumni Peter Howes and Suzanne Bond as chief revenue officer and chief financial officer, respectively.

Mr Howes held several roles at Honeywell Group over 12 years, including several VP positions and president of productivity products.

Meanwhile, Ms Bond spent six years as financial director at Crane Authentication. Her experience includes working as finance project manager at De La Rue as well as manager of operational excellence at Tyco Healthcare.

These new appointments join Richard Cuerden, director of research and operations, Kay Jarvis, chief people officer and Jo Evans, chief marketing and communications officer.

The company's revamped leadership team comes as TRL combines its software, data and expertise together in One TRL, which is intended to serve as a single, connected view of the networks and assets.

By combining tools, live and historical data, digital twins and decades of research into road user behaviour, TRL hopes to help customers see where they need to act first, understand the causes of issues and make better decisions for ‘safer, smarter and more resilient roads'.

Mr Sharratt said: ‘TRL has an extraordinary 90-year legacy, but what really stands out is the quality of the people here. There is real excellence across this business. In our research, our software, our data and the way our teams work with customers.

‘One TRL is about bringing all of that together, so we can make it easier for customers to see the full picture and make better decisions about the transport networks they manage.

‘Our ambition is clear: to be recognised as a world-leading transport organisation, built on brilliant people, trusted expertise and practical solutions that help make roads safer, smarter and more resilient.'

Mr Cuerden added: ‘I've been at TRL for 25 years. The expertise has always been here. What's changing is how quickly we can get it to the people who need it, and how far it can reach, here in the UK and around the world.'
