Parking technology company APT Skidata has increased its shopping centre portfolio by providing a parking systems upgrade at Pavilions Shopping Centre, Waltham Cross.Home to 54 retail units, the centre's mix of high-street brands and specialist boutique shops attracts a weekly footfall of 80,000 people ' and the says it's "outdated" chip-dispensing payment system was proving inefficient and costly, as customers regularly lost the payment chips at a £10 cost to the shopping centre.Malcolm Crane, Centre Director at Pavilions Shopping Centre, says the ageing payment system needed an upgrade: 'It was beginning to show signs of wear and tear, and I didn't want parking to adversely affect the customers' overall experience.'APT won a tendered contract, through Pavilions' facilities management consultant, to upgrade the payment systems at the shopping centre's 400-space, five-floor multi-storey car park. Two paystations have been installed in conjunction with barriers and columns at the two exit and one entry lane.  These work together with a customer friendly ticket-based system, making payment easier and enhancing the experience.APT Skidata is a joint venture of SWARCO and Skidata.
