Stirling Lloyd helped mark the start of last weekend’s Tour de France in Yorkshire. The starting line graphic in Leeds city centre, which marked the spot of 'Le Grand Depart', utilised Stirling Lloyd's anti-skid Decseal Wearing Course and Safetrack LM line marking systems for maximum road surfacing protection.Installed for Leeds City Council by authorised contractor, Jointline Ltd, this graphic follows on from the successful application and performance of Stirling Lloyd's materials on London's Cycle Superhighway project.198 riders crossed the decorative surfacing to start the 2,277 mile race to Paris, and some 2.5 million people lined the route in Yorkshire to watch the first two legs of the Tour. The graphic will be kept as a permanent feature in Leeds, meaning Stirling Lloyd's work will become a tourist landmark for cycling enthusiasts for years to come.
