It's reported that the maker of Mercedes Benz cars, Daimler, is planning to launch six or more electric car models as they look to take on the likes of German rival Audi and Tesla.Reuters reports that a source has told them it is on course to show a new electric car at the Paris motor show next month after its announcement in July that it was accelerating development of premium electric vehicles.The report quotes German trade magazine Automobilwoche as citing company sources saying Daimler would bring to market more than six electric car models between 2018 and 2024.Reuters says German firms are investing heavily in electric cars, which is a segment once neglected by the industry as customers shunned their limited operating range and high cost, after advances in battery technology and a backlash against diesel emissions.
