Piggotts has won a street lighting contract for the car parks at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, West Sussex. The contract, originally a tender for the repair of existing street lighting, resulted in Piggotts proposing a programme to replace the old lighting units with LED lanterns. This proposition not only delivered on the short-term brief but offered an 80% reduction in energy consumption, which aligns with the NHS strategy for sustainable development and environmental considerations. The longer-term benefit offers a cut in annual budget spend on external lighting.Lee Harvey (pictured), managing director of Piggotts, said: “Having recently won a pilot contract for belisha beacons with Tesco, this contract with the Queen Victoria Hospital marks a significant step in our vision and aspirations for the Piggotts street lighting division.”Piggotts is a street lighting specialist which is part of the Crown Group.
