HERE Technologies has signed a multi-year map data agreement with Volvo for off-board cloud services that require knowing the location of cars and managing information in relation to geographical locations.
Volvo says it plans to deploy the services to “enhance vehicle performance and the driver experience” and will develope the services in its own cloud environment.
HERE says it continuously updates its automotive-grade map to “keep pace with an endlessly changing physical world, making millions of changes every day” and “providing the ability for companies and organisations to access the map and location services via its platform.”
