Yotta will carry out a range of road surveys in Hounslow after being awarded a contract worth up to £100,000. Hounslow Highways started operating the new highways service in the London Borough of Hounslow on 1 January 2013.The surveys that will be carried out by Yotta include a combined footway network and detailed visual inspection survey, skid resistance and traffic speed surveys (SCANNER).Yotta will survey the entire Hounslow highway network; 458 miles of footway and 259 miles of carriageway. The company has also produced a bespoke survey manual to improve the consistency and repeatability of the visual surveys.Rob Gillespie, service director at Hounslow Highways, said: “Yotta understands our network and our survey requirements. We also appreciate what the company can do for us and we have developed a close working relationship. The company’s survey team is competent and we get accurate, quality data that helps us with meeting our performance indicators for maintaining and improving the network.”The project is the result of an historic £800 million, 25-year deal signed by the council to improve the highways infrastructure across the borough.
