Our history
The King Group was founded in 1962 by Canadian engineer Vern King and quickly established itself as a bespoke trailer manufacturing business. Pioneers of the single, twin and tri-axle step frame plant-carrier trailers and of hydraulic goosenecks, its reputation for quality and longevity is well regarded in the industry and many of the ‘early years' trailers remain in service today.
During the 1990s and early 2000s the business diversified, taking footsteps into sectors such as traffic management and rail, whilst expanding its special project engineering team.
Acquired by The Martin Group of Companies in 2016, The King Group of Companies now represents a diverse vehicle engineering and integration business, working in specialist sectors including construction, traffic management, rail, Nuclear, oil & gas and military.
One of the longest established British trailer manufacturers, our factory is still located on the same site in Market Harborough to this day.
