ITS (UK) comes on board for Road Expo Scotland

15/09/2021 | CHRIS AMES

ITS (UK) will be an official partner for this year's Road Expo Scotland when it returns to the SEC, Glasgow Exhibition Centre in December.

ITS (UK) will play a major role in arranging the Road Expo programme this year, helping place it at the cutting edge of the intelligent transport debate with expert speakers delivering must-see presentations.

As always, longstanding hosts Transport Scotland will also be central to delivering the conference programme, giving delegates insights and debates from the very heart of the Scottish Government's transport decision making.

Event director Craig Donovan commented: 'As a group, we have worked very closely with ITS (UK) on a variety of events over the years and I am absolutely delighted to extend this working relationship even further and join forces with them for Road Expo Scotland this year.

'Intelligent transport and technology have never been such an important topic. In order to support Scotland's ambitions to lead the world in areas such as road safety, design and construction, and transport planning, the team at Road Expo Scotland knew we had to put the digital agenda front and centre, and who better to help us lead the charge than the experts at ITS (UK).

'Our combined Transport Scotland and ITS (UK) partnership will make this an event to remember and simply too good to miss. We know there is no lack of ambition or talent in Scotland's road and the transport sector - it rightly aims to be the best in the world - and Road Expo is the place where it all comes together.'

ITS (UK) is a not-for-profit public/private sector association financed by members’ subscriptions and provides a unique platform for all organisations concerned with intelligent transport systems.

It works to bring the economic, safety and environmental benefits of ITS to the United Kingdom as a whole – and at the same time expand the market.

Operations manager Rukshan Soysa said: ‘We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Road Expo Scotland and look forward to engaging with key players and stakeholders operating specifically within the road and transport sector in Scotland.

'ITS (UK) will support our executive members, Transport Scotland who will deliver an excellent programme focused on collaboration, innovation, technology and guidance and of course long-awaited opportunities for gathering together and networking.’

Road Expo takes place on 1 and 2 December. Stand bookings are open and are already in high demand, so if you manufacture, supply or are a contractor on the Scottish road network, get in touch with exhibition commercial manager Richard Gayle r.gayle@hgluk.com ASAP to discuss stand positions and sponsorship opportunities.

Over the coming weeks, the event website at www.road-expo.com will be regularly updated with the latest conference programme, information on how to exhibit and details of the innovation trail application process, so bookmark it now.
