Contractors have until 2 July to express an interest in bidding for places on a £40 million framework for road maintenance work in Strathclyde for Renfrewshire Council.

The works will be split into six lots and cover individual jobs worth less than £4m in areas from carriageway resurfacing to road lighting.

The original deal was set up in 2022 to cover a two-year period and Hillhouse Quarry (trading as MacAsphalt), John McGeady, JH Civil Engineering, Luddon, Kiely Bros, John McQuillan, Markon and Finko Contracts were appointed.

The agreement was subsequently extended and will be replaced by the new framework, which is due to start in November 2026.

Lot 1 will cover resurfacing of sections of the council's carriageway network, which covers more than 800 km of roads.

Lot 2 covers resurfacing of the council's 1,200-km network of footways, footpaths and paved areas and Lot 3 road marking services.

Companies appointed to Lot 4 will be available for call-off on minor traffic improvement works, while Lot 5 covers road lighting and Lot 6 covers drainage improvement works within the council's network in and around Paisley.

The new agreement will run for an initial period of three years and include an option for a single 12-month renewal.
