Wolverhampton City Council, on behalf of Black Country Transport, has appointed 16 contractors to a four-year framework with an estimated value of £180m.
As the contracting authority, Wolverhampton CC is working in partnership with Birmingham City Council, Dudley MBC, Sandwell MBC, Walsall MBC, Wolverhampton Homes and West Midlands Combined Authority.
Running from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029, with a possible extension to 30 June 2030, the framework is split into four lots:
- Lot 1: Works up to £250,000 – estimated contract value of £15m
- Lot 2: Works between £250,000.01 - £750,000 – estimated contract value of £21m
- Lot 3: Works between £750,000.01 and £5,000,000 – estimated contract value of £54m
- Lot 4: Works between £5,000,000.01 and £10,000,000 – estimated contract value of £90m
Several big names found a place on the framework, with Holcim UK appointed to Lot 2 and Amey to Lot 4, with many suppliers – including Haystoun Construction, C.R. Reynolds and Fitzgerald Contractors – appointed across multiple lots.
