Nine contractors are now available for call-off work on a surfacing framework in Yorkshire that could be worth more than £44m over the next four years.
The successful contractors are: Colas, Jointline, JPCS, Kiely Bros, Miles Macadam, Premier Roadmarkings, Pronin, Velocity and WJ North.
The agreement, which has started, runs until April 2028 but has two optional extensions of 12 months apiece that could take the deal up to 2030.
The contractors have been appointed across 11 lots, which are expected to produce annual spending of £9.35m. If fully extended, this would take the value of the framework up to £44.8m.
The works include micro asphalt, slurry seal, retexturing, contour patching, retread, infra-red patching, overbanding, inlaid crack sealing repairs, cold milling and asphalt preservation. Geosynthetic and steel mesh work, structural road recycling, machine-laid grouted macadam and high friction surfacing are also covered.
Instead of each of the lots covering a type of work, the lots relate to local authorities in the region. Lot 1 covers Bradford, Lot 2 is Calderdale, Lot 3 is Kirklees, and Lot 4 is Leeds.
Work for Wakefield and York is covered under Lots 5 and 6, respectively, while Lot 7 is for Barnsley, Lot 8 for Doncaster and Lot 9 for Rotherham.
Lot 10 covers work for North Yorkshire County Council's subsidiary, NY Highways, and Lot 11 will be for any other contracting authority in the Yorkshire and Humber region that uses the framework to call off contractors for work.
