Bury Council is looking to set up a four-year framework for highways works with an estimated value of up to £165m.
Once established, this framework is expected to be divided into 11 lots:
- Lot 1 - Minor and reactive maintenance – estimated value of £6m
- Lot 2 - Preventive maintenance - estimated value of £12m
- Lot 3 - Carriageway surfacing - estimated value of £30m
- Lot 4 - Lining (including anti-skid and coloured surface overlay) - estimated value of £2.4m
- Lot 5 - Street lighting - estimated value of £24m
- Lot 6 - Major civils - estimated value of £60m
- Lot 7 - CCTV and jetting inspection - estimated value of £1.2m
- Lot 8.1 - Highway structures up to £150K - estimated value of £2.4m
- Lot 8.2 - Highway structures £150k to £750K - estimated value of £9m
- Lot 8.3 - Highway structures over £750K - estimated value of £18m
- Lot 9 – Coring - estimated value of £60,000
Running from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2030, the framework has no limit on the number of suppliers, but the council does note that it plans to appoint a maximum of three contractors to each lot.
Those wishing to participate in the framework must enquire by 21 February 2026, with tenders then due by 27 February.
The council then expects to announce the successful suppliers by 2 April.
