The Council of the Borough of Kirklees has tendered a materials and tools framework with an estimated value of £2.16m.

The framework is expected to run for an initial two years from 18 December 2026 to 17 December 2028, but it also allows for two 12-month extensions that would bring the total run time to four years, ending in 2030.

Three lots make up the framework:

  • Lot 1 - Miscellaneous civil engineering materials, including cements, drainage materials, manhole covers and gully grates, road marking materials and timber products – estimated value of £450,000 per year
  • Lot 2 - Site safety materials, including cone signs, cones and barriers, danger lamps and footway boards – estimated value of £45,000 per year
  • Lot 3 - Tools and consumables, including hand tools, wheelbarrows, buckets, replacement blades and sandbags – estimated value of £45,000 per year

New items may be added to the price list by the framework manager.

‘If products are added to a Lot (i.e. 1,2 or 3),' the notice adds, ‘all suppliers appointed to the same Lot will be asked to submit a price for these items.'

Companies wishing to participate in the framework have until 12 November to submit an enquiry, with tenders then due 10 days later on 23 November.

Kirklees Borough Council intends to announce its award decision on 9 December.
