Lancashire County Council has extended the deadline for tender submissions on its £5.04m contract to undertake the improvement works to Rawtenstall Gyratory.

The contract, which is expected to run from 4 March 2026 to 26 June 2030, will see the successful supplier carry out improvements to the road, including a revised layout that will introduce an additional lane filtering directly into the A682 bypass, upgraded crossings, tactile paving and modernised traffic signal systems.

The plans also include a new reactive traffic system to support faster emergency response times from Rawtenstall Fire Station.

Initially due for submission on 28 November, tenders must now be submitted no later than 12 December 2025.
