Slough Borough Council has tendered a framework covering both minor and major highways works, with an estimated value of £15m.
Expected to run for a total of four years, the contract will initially cover 4 January 2027 to 3 January 2030, but allows for a possible year-long extension until 3 January 2031.
The council stated that the framework is expected to cover ‘a broad range of highways-related works', including construction projects ‘of varying values', reactive maintenance, resurfacing works and ‘specialist services such as drainage, bridge inspections, traffic management, and road marking'.
Slough BC has split the contract into the following five Lots:
- Lot 1: Minor works construction projects up to the value of £500,000 per contract
- Lot 2: Minor works construction projects up to the value of £500,000 to £2m per contract
- Lot 3: Major works construction projects up to the value of £2m to £10m per contract
- Lot 4: Re-active maintenance works up to the value of £100,000 per contract
- Lot 5: Carriageway resurfacing works up to the value of £1m per contract.
Those wishing to participate in the framework must submit a tender by midday on 4 September, with the council expecting to announce the successful suppliers by 4 January 2027.
