Stantec has appointed Mike Cammock as director of transport planning to strengthen its offering in the north of England across all sectors and for national, regional and local authority clients.

Mr Cammock will be based in Leeds and have responsibility for growing the firm's transport planning business across the north of England.

He will work with existing regional clients and teams, develop new relationships, and support national delivery and opportunities across the wider business.

Mr Cammock said: ‘I'm thrilled to be joining Stantec. The transport team works on projects that have transformative impacts on communities and I'm looking forward to contributing to our work not only in the UK but also around the world. We have a great opportunity to build our growing reputation and become embedded in even more major UK projects.'

Stantec said Mr Cammock has 22 years' experience within the transportation and highways sector and a broad range of technical expertise and experience providing operational leadership, transport planning and advisory services to a wide range of clients.

Before joining the firm, he worked for Jacobs, leading its transport planning business across the north of England.

His primary area of expertise is the development and delivery of investment programmes and major schemes. He has been involved in the development of over 50 successful business cases and in 2019 the Department of Transport invited him to join the Joint Analysis Development Panel as a subject matter expert for the development of business cases.

Mr Cammock has worked on several nationally significant programmes including the Smart Motorway Programme, the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway Strategic Study, the A1 in Northumberland Strategic Study and the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme.

Stantec helps plan, design, deliver and manage developments and infrastructure across the UK with a staff of more than 1,800 the business has been in operation for more than 150 years.
