This year's Hillhead exhibition – taking place at Hillhead Quarry from 23–25 June – will see ‘more live equipment demonstrations than ever before'.

The event boasts four live demonstration areas, as well as over 620 exhibitors and a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered visitor planning tool.

There is also a new curated demonstration programme in the Quarry Face area, which will be hosted by broadcaster and technology presenter Nikki Dean.

Taking place at 11:00, 12:30 and 14:00 each day, these demonstrations will feature live machine operation alongside expert commentary and manufacturer interviews, supported by a ‘giant' LED screen that will allow visitors a clearer vantage point on the demonstration.

Major names taking part in these sessions include Hyundai Construction Equipment, CASE Construction Equipment, LiuGong, JCB, Hitachi Construction Machinery, DEVELON, SANY, Komatsu, SBM Mineral Processing, Corgin and XCMG.

Beyond the curated sessions, attendees will be able to see over 35 machines operating across three benches of quarry face, split into the following sections:

  • The Rock Processing demonstration Area - hosting crushing and screening equipment, with supporting technologies including dust and fire suppression systems also on show
  • The East Demonstration Area - featuring equipment from Herbst, Portafill, JCB, LiuGong, SDLG, Engcon and Dustquip among others.
  • The Registration Demonstration Area - showcasing specialist excavation, attachment and recycling technologies from operators including RSP Suction Excavators, Rototilt UK, Steelwrist, MB Crusher, Red Rhino Crushers, Kinshofer, Auger Torque, Yanmar, Rock Extraction, Air Spectrum and INMALO.

All three sections will allow visitors to see an extensive selection of companies present a wide range of operations in person, including excavators, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks, electric construction equipment, crushers, specialist attachments and dust suppression systems.

Among the highlights of the exhibition area, visitors can expect new technologies, products and services, including Finning UK & Ireland demonstrating digital tools, connectivity and machine intelligence, CASE Construction Equipment showcasing its latest G+ Series wheel loaders, and Wirtgen Group, which will present end-to-end materials processing and road construction solutions, including what are reported as the UK's first modular battery-electric road construction machines.

With such a wide range of options available across the three-day event, Hillhead 2026 will also see the launch of a new AI planning tool powered by Exhibitly. Personalised itineraries generated by the tool will allow users to identify where their time can best be spent at the event with no sign-in required.
