Kier has appointed Barry Jupp as managing director of the highways business within its wider infrastructure division.

Mr Jupp said: ‘Having spent much of my career in the business, I know the strength of our brilliant teams, the importance of the services we provide, and the value of the relationships we've built with our customers, supply chain and partners.

'My focus is to build on the strong foundations already in place, supporting our people to perform at their best, and continuing to improve how we deliver for our customers with safety and consistency at the heart of everything we do.'

James Birch, managing director for transportation at Kier Infrastructure, added: ‘In his new role, Barry brings great experience, strong leadership, a deep knowledge of the highways business and sector, and a clear understanding of what matters most.

'He has made a significant contribution to Kier over many years and is well placed to lead our highways business through its next phase of growth and performance, while delivering essential services that connect our communities and support growth within the wider UK economy.'
