The London Borough of Merton is on the hunt for a contractor to carry out highways construction and repairs.The council expects to spend up to £70m over the five-year term of the contract, which carries an option to be extended for two years.Work is due to start in September 2012. The contract covers non-exclusive provision of highway construction and maintenance, including reactive maintenance, emergency highway services and implementation of traffic calming and permanent traffic management schemes.Professional services will also be required such as undertaking feasibility studies, consultations, preparation of as-built drawings and CDM Co-ordination services.
