The Midlands Highway Alliance (MHA) will award £261 million of highways contracts at a launch event on Thursday (5 June). With an anticipated workload of £261m over a four-year period the Medium Schemes Framework (MSF2) will enable the 21 MHA members to quickly and efficiently appoint contractors for large-scale construction schemes up to £25 million.Phil Crossland, chair of the MHA, said: “The previous contract proved itself to be an excellent example of collaboration between local councils across the Midlands and beyond delivering around £250m of projects and saving an estimated £15m.“The main aim of the MHA from the very start has been to enable our members to quickly access standardised, high-quality, professional services for their road construction schemes. I’m delighted to see its replacement launched which will enable everyone in the alliance to continue to deliver projects more efficiently.”MSF2 will run from April 2014 to March 2017 or 2018.
