Waymo have published a video showing a driverless vehicle interact with a Policeman who is directing traffic using hand signals.
The Google self driving car division appears to have worked out what is seen as one of the main challenges to autonomous vehicles operating in a mixed fleet – the idea of dealing with human interaction.
In the video Waymo’s self-driving car approaching a traffic light that is not working. The car comes to a stop before entering the intersection and waits for the officer signal that we can proceed.
