A three-week maintenance project to resurface three bridges on the A303 in Hampshire begins this week.
Two bridges on the A303 to the west of Andover will be resurfaced – the Kimpton Quarley bridge over the junction where the A303 meets Wiremead Lane near Thruxton, and Thruxton Hill bridge, on approach to the A303 junction with the A338, for Salisbury.
The third structure to be resurfaced will be the main bridge at the Picket Twenty interchange, where the A303 meets the A3093 to the east of Andover.
All work is being carried out overnight, when traffic flows are lowest, and all restrictions will be removed outside working hours.
Highways agency structures manager Steve Cobb said: “The A303 is a major route to the South West, and it is vital that we invest in the road to keep it in good condition for the many thousands of drivers who depend on it every day.
"We have planned the work carefully to keep disruption to an absolute minimum, though I’d advise drivers using the A303 overnight for the next few weeks to allow some extra time for their journeys.”
