Highways Agency contractor Amey has completed the acquisition of Enterprise.The deal makes Amey one of the most diverse players in the UK public and regulated sectors with a turnover of £2.3 billion and 21,000 employees.The company now operates more than 320 contracts, providing a range of services including: utilities, highways, waste management, rail, justice solutions, social housing and facilities management. Services are underpinned by its consulting and asset management capabilities which allow it to offer stand-alone or integrated service solutions across almost every county in the UK.Mel Ewell has been named as chief executive of the newly combined organisation.In a statement the company said: “We will now begin a dedicated process of integrating Enterprise into Amey, while remaining focused on delivering a smooth transition for customers; ensuring service continuity and maintaining operational excellence throughout. The acquisition will allow Amey to respond to the demands of the industry, offering long term value to customers through enhanced capabilities, a broader provision of services and implementation of best practice.”By Alec Peachey
