Essex County Council (ECC) has announced a virtual engagement session for suppliers interested in bidding on its £3bn highways strategic transformation contract.
The session will take place on 3 September, offering contractors an update on ECC's procurement approach. An agenda for the meeting will be provided alongside the invitation to the virtual event on 27 August.
The mega-contract is expected to come into effect on 1 April 2027 and has an estimated run time of seven years until 31 March 2034.
The successful supplier will be expected to undertake reactive and planned maintenance that ‘delivers best value with the resources available’ across the council’s highway network, including design and delivery of improvement schemes.
A tender notice for this contract is expected to be published on 20 October.
