The London Borough of Hillingdon has tendered a new highways term service contract with a maximum length of 12 years and a total value of up to £127.8m.
The successful contractor will be expected to carry out capital investment works, including:
- Council road safety, congestion alleviation and parking management capital schemes
- Capital schemes funded by Transport for London (TfL) for Local Implementation Plan (LiP)
- Externally funded on/off highways works
- Council off-highways works such as housing revenue repairs, depot (Harlington Road depot) repair.
There will also be a requirement to undertake both reactive and routine maintenance works such as cyclical drain and gully cleansing, planned ditch clearing, repairs to potholes, footway defects and street furniture, and installation of new domestic and heavy vehicle crossovers.
Once completed, the new contract is expected to run for an initial seven years from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2033, but it also allows for a possible five-year extension until 31 March 2038, bringing the total length to 12 years.
The enquiry deadline for this contract is 15 September 2025, with the tender deadline expected to be 19 September.
