Pothole repair programme for A66

A £138,000 scheme to tackle potholes along the A66 west of Penrith in Cumbria will get underway later this month.

About 2.5 miles of the westbound dual carriageway between Newbiggin and Highgate Farm will benefit from the work which will start on Monday 21 October and be completed by Monday 4 November.

Most of the work will be done overnight between 8pm and 6am with the westbound carriageway reduced to one lane.

EM Highways Services is the Highways Agency contractor in Area 13.

Highways Agency project sponsor Peter Gee said: ''This is routine maintenance to ensure users of the A66 can continue to enjoy safe and smooth journeys.”
