Work to upgrade a 2.5 mile section of the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury from single to dual carriageway has been put out to tender by the Highways Agency.
The estimated value of the works is between £58m and £72m. Works also include upgrading junctions and improving the road layout.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 29 August with selected firms then invited to bid for the work in October.
The project is expected to take 30 months to complete. The project has been the subject of a public inquiry and a final decision on whether or not it will go ahead is expected at the end of this year.
