Transport Scotland has extended the deadline for tender submissions for the £205m A9 Pitlochry to Killiecrankie dualling contract from 4 September to 18 September.
When approached by Highways, Transport Scotland stated that the deadline was extended in response to a request from an economic operator for additional time to submit a completed single procurement document (SPD).
As the fifth section of the A9 dualling scheme, this contract will see the successful supplier upgrade four miles of the A9 road between Pitlochry and Killiecrankie to a dual carriageway.
The project will also include the construction of two grade-separated junctions, two ‘left-in left-out’ junctions, two major underbridges, the provision of five other additional underbridges, the extension of one current rail underbridge and the demolition and replacement of three existing underbridges.
Transport Scotland has stated that it expects the successful bid to be announced in the autumn of next year.
