KaarbonTech has been awarded a £7.2m contract by Wirral Council to undertake a baseline survey and assessment of the metropolitan borough's entire drainage asset inventory.

Currently, the contract is not expected to be signed until 1 September, but once completed, it is expected to run for two years until 31 August 2028.

As well as assessing the current state of Wirral's drainage systems, Kaarbon is also expected to handle cleansing of at-risk drainage assets and develop a ‘risk-based model informed by multiple data points' collected through its assessment of conditions and ‘other factors'.

Kaarbon was one of five companies to submit a tender; Larkins Environmental Services, Lucion Survey, Retroserve and Land Survey Solutions were all listed as unsuccessful on the council's contract award notice.
