AGD Systems is one of the UK’s leading ITS manufacturers and is trusted by highways authorities across the world because of its commitment to innovation, quality and globally compatible solutions.

Launched more than three decades ago and boasting a team comprising of true industry experts, the company’s products for smart cities, smart highways and strategic transport initiatives are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of today and challenges of tomorrow. Whether it’s traffic and pedestrian detection or highways monitoring and enforcement, AGD has a range of products which are easy to integrate and maintain.

The expertise within AGD Systems is further bolstered by its sister companies which together form The Traffic Group: AGD Australasia, MAV, Traffic Group Signals, and Traffic Group Technology. The Group is at the forefront of transport innovation, with its divisions individually and collectively making a real impact and pushing progress within the sector.

Among the latest in AGD’s innovative ITS solutions is the AGD650, a smart detector which makes intersections and junctions more efficient by delivering robust vehicle detection data at the stop-line of multi-lane approaches.

Its in-built artificial intelligence (AI) processes information on board to optimise performance and provide ultra-reliable detection, with a new neural processing platform and sophisticated algorithms providing automated decision making. Having been successfully trialled by local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales, the 650 went into full production earlier in 2023 and is already in demand to help improve safety and efficiency at junctions for the benefit of all road users including cyclists and pedestrians.

Looking to AGD’s range of radars, The AGD343 has become one of the company’s most sought-after products since its development in the early 2020s and is currently in use in multiple countries across the world, from Australia to Qatar to Canada, as well as across the UK.

The Highways Monitoring Radar is a class-leading traffic flow solution offering an unrivalled alternative to outdated high maintenance loop systems. The 343 is an enforcement grade radar and can be sited just 2m from the nearest running lane to monitor the speed, range and length of passing vehicles across up to ten lanes, providing real-time, multi-lane highways data to control rooms.

Whether transport decision-makers are looking to solve a specific issue at a site or seeking a wider solution for greener, safer and more efficient traffic and pedestrian flow, AGD has become the trusted partner to provide exactly that: safe, efficient and environmentally-beneficial ITS solutions for all.
