Temporary Vehicle Restraint Systems

Asset VRS is a division of Hill and Smith Infrastructure Ltd alongside three other VRS leading companies, Hardstaff Barriers, Hill&Smith Barriers and Varley&Gulliver.

With the UK’s largest temporary barrier rental pool and an unmatched containment level choice, Asset VRS’s range of temporary Vehicle Restraint System barriers can be combined, giving a comprehensive inline solution to your scheduled or emergency works. Focused on innovation and safety, Asset VRS works with National Highways and critical supply chain partners to ensure continued development within the industry.

The lowest deflecting portable steel highway barrier in the world, Zoneguard provides the ultimate protection for installers, roadworkers and passing public. Both Zoneguard and Varioguard steel barriers are fully tested to EN1317 and deliver unique absorbing technology to manage the energy of errant vehicles by a combination of self-weight, catenary action, and the mass of the impacting vehicle on the products foot section, which limits barrier deflection. Up to 2800m of steel barrier can be drilled and fixed to N2 W2 specification in a shift using the unique joints and Asset’s Drilling Rig which has become a feature on most installations providing Zero Hand Arm vibration. Asset VRS, working in partnership with its sister company Hill&Smith Barriers, can also fabricate bespoke permanent and temporary VRS steel barriers, in cases where utilities have to be moved or a large amount of preparation is required to install conventional barriers.

Concrete Barriers REBLOC enables you to meet the most stringent safety specifications and offers a wide-ranging system that increases site work areas. The RB80 systems are only 30cm wide and provide an N2 W1 performance class, ideal for contraflows or where limited space is available. The RB140S High Containment concrete barrier solution offers an impressive H4a containment level with a W4 working width and is ideal for use across structures and areas with high containment requirements. The Multibloc concrete barrier is a surface mounted, unpinned temporary system which provides N2 W3 containment and our Maxibloc is a taller system which offers H4a W5 containment when surface mounted and H4a W2 when recessed.

Asset VRS offer tested fenced solutions on both the Zoneguard and Varioguard systems to help protect both the passing public and workers from loose debris and can be combined ensuring continuous protection along the length of the scheme.
