Former Kier Highways boss Joe Incutti has been made group managing director for Kier Infrastructure - a division with a £2bn annual turnover and more than 6,000 employees.

Announcing the move on social media, Mr Incutti said: 'I'm thrilled to share that I'm starting a new position as Group Managing Director - Kier Infrastructure at Kier Group! The Kier Infrastructure division combines Kier's design, build and maintenance capabilities across the road, rail, aviation, water, energy and environment sectors.'

Mr Incutti has amassed 15 years of experience in the sector while working for Kier. His last role was group managing director of the Kier Transportation business division.

Before joining Kier, he had worked in a variety of sectors including banking, manufacturing, defence and the NHS.

Mr Incutti built up a strong reputation in the highways sector as an extremely capable and forward-thinking business leader. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation and a founder member of the Highways Sector Council.

He is also a qualified accountant with experience of acquisitions, driving change and business improvement across various sectors, including construction and infrastructure, banking, defence and manufacturing.

In his online profile, Mr Incutti describes himself as 'focused on building long-term collaborative business relationships with government, clients, supply chain partners, peers and industry bodies' and being 'passionate about supporting and enabling people to realise their potential, and championing diversity and inclusion'.

The move follows the retirement of Andrew Davies, former chief executive, on 31 October 2025. He was succeeded by Stuart Togwell.

Another big personnel move towards the end of last year for Kier, saw chief financial officer, Simon Kesterton, step down from the Group. Tom Hinton has now assumed the role.

Mr Kesterton played a pivotal role in transforming Kier and strengthening its balance sheet during its period of recovery in recent years.
