Westmorland and Furness Council (WFC) has announced a new framework for temporary traffic management with a total value of £3.6m and no limit on the number of suppliers.
The framework will allow suppliers to submit tenders for a possible four-year contract to carry out any required temporary traffic management for works that are ‘beyond the expertise’ of the council’s in-house team.
The contract will run from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2027, with the possibility of an extension to 31 October 2029, and will cover over 4,343km of highways assets.
The tender notice is currently expected to be published on 7 July via The Chest and the deadline for submission for those suppliers included in the framework will be 1 August.
WFC expects to have a decision by 22 September.
