Greg Clark from Quality Marking Services (QMS) is set to run the London Marathon in aid of the Lighthouse Club.
Clark (pictured), who is the company’s operations director, works as a volunteer for the construction industry charity.
In the past 25 years, the Lighthouse Club has given £11 million to 12,000 individuals or families of those within the construction industry who are unable to work through accident, illness or injury.
The London Marathon is taking place on 13 April 2014 and Clark is aiming to raise £5,000. He said: "I have lost too many close friends through either an accident on site or through illness. Seeing the difference that the Lighthouse Club has made to families throughout the UK is heart warming. Running the marathon is on my bucket list and I figured that I should use it to raise awareness and funds for this fabulous charity."
Any business that is willing to donate £250 can have their company logo reproduced in colour on Greg’s running shirt.
If you would like to make a donation please do so via Greg’s JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/gc-2014
