Contractors interested in winning places on a four-year capital works framework with Cumberland Council have until July 6 to register and submit bids.
Eight contractors will be appointed in September to the agreement, which could see spending of more than £200m according to reports.
It will be split into three packages. Lot one will cover general building works valued at up to £3m, while lot two will cover highway structures, town centre improvements, drainage and flood defence schemes up to the same value.
A third lot will cover combined civil engineering and general building works from up to £6m, and some higher value schemes may also be procured through the framework.
Competition for places on the deal is expected to be fierce as representatives from 49 contractors attended a capital works framework event staged by the council at Harraby Community Centre in Carlisle in March.
'We are incredibly pleased with the turnout and the level of engagement we saw,' said Cllr Mark Fryer, the leader of Cumberland Council after the event, which was also attended by a trio of interested consultants.
He added: 'This event marked a strong start to what we believe will be a dynamic and collaborative framework, driving high-quality capital works across the region.
'Working with local stakeholders is something we always strive for — and although it is not always possible, this event has opened the doors to two-way conversations with many contractors. We are exceptionally pleased with the response and hopeful that more businesses will come to the table in the future.'
Bidders will be assessed on a quality and social value weighting of 82.5 per cent and a price weighting of 17.5 per cent.
