Wiltshire Council has awarded Kiely Bros a surface dressing and micro asphalt term contract worth up to £80m.
The Birmingham-based contractor was one of two tenders submitted to Wiltshire Council for the contract.
The contract will run for five years from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2030, with an optional extension of up to five additional years until 2035.
When approached for comment, the council stated that the total value in the contract notice of £80m is for the full 10 years.
The new contract covers the design, provision and aftercare of surface dressing and micro asphalt surfacing works on the Wiltshire highway network.
It includes 'associated pre-surfacing civils works, road markings, cats’ eyes, loop cutting and gully emptying, and any necessary traffic management associated with these works'.
The council added that the contractor is expected to capture the carbon emissions of maintenance activities and actively seek to reduce this carbon footprint during the contract period.
The award criteria were weighted with 30% on the quality of the tender and 70% on the price.
