Kier’s executive director of highways, Dave Wright, has been awarded the prestigious Individual Award at this year’s Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) Awards.
The award is made to an individual who has shown outstanding leadership and innovation in the development and promotion of collaborative working approaches.
Mr Wright said: ‘I was honoured to receive the award and celebrate with colleagues at the annual awards ceremony. I place collaboration at the heart of my business and I’ve spent many years focusing on innovative ways to enable our whole supply chain to work more closely and effectively together.
‘Successful collaboration encourages innovation, creativity and productivity across the whole life cycle of our projects, and I’m proud that these achievements have been recognised by ICW and highlights my commitment to collaborative working.’
Mr Wright has most recently pioneered Kier’s award winning Alliance Approach to BS 11000 – covering collaborative business relationships – with the BSI [British Standards Institution] and SME supply chain and then went on to help Kier to be one of the first companies to be awarded the newly created international certification for collaboration ISO 44001, which replaced BS 11000.
The judges considered that he demonstrated inspirational collaborative leadership in harnessing the benefits of collaborative working with his own organisation and set a benchmark across the industry.
